Outside of work, tell us about you.
I'm married to my lovely wife Jenna and we have two boys Raffy and Otis. I try to play as much golf as I'm allowed to and I'm living all of my failed sporting dreams through my children, Raffy has the golf bug so that helps....Otis I'm still working on him!
What’s your favourite location and why?
Los Angeles has a big place in my heart. I coached football for LA Galaxy after university for several months and in 2024 I got to take my wife and boys there who loved it as well.
Who's your childhood hero?
I'm a huge Liverpool fan (openly admit I'm a glory supporter rather than any connection to the city).
John Barnes - Not only an amazing player but what he had to endure with pioneering black footballers to succeed in the 80's and 90's.
Robbie Fowler - Amazing footballer but also entrepreneur becoming a property mogul and helping redevelop the city of Liverpool
What got you into recruitment?
I loved the idea that you can accelerate your career without being defined by tenure. Recruitment is a tough role but with the right energy and drive partnered with support and training, it can be a hugely rewarding profession.
Favourite film / TV series?
I have a few favourites, the Wire, the Simpsons, Taskmaster and Bluey!
What’s your favourite food?
Mexican food but i also love any type of seafood. So no matter what cuisine as long as there is seafood I'm very happy.
If you could change one thing about the industry, what would it be and why?
Getting children into coding/data much earlier. Other countries have been doing this for years and it's paying off with more girls doing programming which is still our biggest problem area. In addition offering better technical apprenticeships offering opportunities to find their path within a commercial environment especially those who cannot afford or don't want to go to university.
